Head and thorax black; spots on shoulders, coxae, and patches on sides of metathorax white; tegule with metallic blue spots; abdomen black, with subdorsal series of metallic green spots, the last two segments banded with orange; the ventral valve edged with white, a white patch on following segment and yellow patch on terminal segments; wings hyaline, the veins, and margins broadly, black. Fore wing with black discocellular patch; the terminal band of both wings expanding towards apex and tornus, Amazons, 42 millim. AZ NOTE: Cat. Lep. Ph. Brit. Mus. uses a non-standard definition of "tegulae" and "patagia". From Vol. 1: "The thorax consists of three segments-the prothorax, bearing the tegulm or collar-lappets, the patagia or shoulder-lappets, and the fore legs ..." Seitz: A. collocata Wkr. (11 e). Head, thorax and abdomen are black; collar spotted in a metallic blue; spots on the shoulders, the hips at the sides of the metathorax are white. The abdomen shows subdorsal rows of metallic green spots; the last 2 segments are orange-curled. The ventral valve is white-margined and the 6th and 7th segments show on the ventral side a large, red-yellow spot. The wings as in the allies. From the Amazon District (Ega).
